Split Field Trials

ADAMA Regional Agronomy Managers have worked closely with farmers across the UK to conduct split field trials.

Split field: Colchester - Arizona compared to CTL

Crop: Winter Wheat

Application: Folpet applied T0 and T1

“The field the trial was in was our best yielding this year. When comparing CTL vs Folpet, there was no visible difference in disease control or yield.”

Split field: Ragley, Warwickshire - Arizona compared to CTL

Crop: Winter Wheat

Application: Folpet applied T1 and T2

“I was very pleased with the visual effects of the Arizona trial. There was very little difference in crop cleanliness between Arizona and CTL.” - AICC Agronomist– Strutt and Parker

Folpet Testimonials

“ The most robust levels of Ramularia control have been provided by using a multi-site fungicide at the T2 timing. This has increased the reliance on chlorothalonil. However, this chemical has lost its approval in Europe and with a use up date of May 2020, alternative multi-site fungicides such as folpet should be considered. Trial results in 2019 across Europe indicated some control of Ramularia with multi-sites and their additional role in protecting new chemistry should not be underestimated”

Dr Neil Havis, Senior Plant Pathologist at SRUC

“We will look at alternative multi-site fungicides when CTL is no longer available – to ensure we’re still incorporating a multi-site as part of the T2 protocol in barley for resistance management – and that will mean a switch to using folpet instead. There’s evidence to suggest folpet provides some activity against ramularia, so hopefully, by using it in conjunction with cyprodinil, the loss of chlorothalonil won’t be too problematic.”
